Associate Sales Engineer

We are looking for an Associate Sales Engineer who will maintain and expand relationships with assigned customers within assigned territory. In this role you will be responsible for achieving sales targets and assigned strategic account objectives. You will represent the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company. In this position, you will also work together our design engineering and engineering proposal team to find the best value in support of the potential customers’ requirements. The Associate Sales Engineer reports directly to the Americas Sales Manager.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries and works closely with Regional Account Manager, Engineering & Customer to present & qualify opportunities using standard process & documentation, provide proposals and manage opportunity until customer issues PO.
  • Ensure full understanding of each opportunity, the company, decision makers, company buying process and work with Regional Account Manager to set sales strategy in order to maximize success & revenue.
  • Maintain current and high level accuracy within ERP system for sales related items such as proposals due, probabilities, follow ups, win / loss reports, etc.
  • Ensure all sales orders are setup and launched giving engineering & manufacturing maximum opportunity for success and attend concept review meetings.
  • Attend regional sales & forecast meetings.
  • Keep his/her manager currently informed of all relevant matters that affect the assigned territory and/or LINK.
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity and provides sales and marketing feedback on customer and industry direction to his/her supervisor and company management.
  • Deliver sales results that meet and or exceed sales goals established by management.
  • Remains alert for sales opportunities relevant to other LINK businesses and passes appropriate lead information to his/her selling counterpart in those organizations.
  • Act in a leadership capacity on projects related to Research and Development of LINK products and services.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or studies) in business, engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years of related experience in sales and account management, preferably in industrial equipment.
  • Ability to learn an Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Ability to travel in North America on occasion.
  • Outstanding people skills and ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to cultivate an excellent customer experience.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

Physical Requirements

Position is located in a mixed office and manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time.
