Engineering Intern/Co-Op

We are looking for an Engineering Intern/Co-Op to work at our Dearborn Technical Center, in Michigan. As a paid intern/co-op, you will be able to apply coursework concepts to real-world situations working alongside professional, experienced colleagues while also gaining valuable experience working for a global manufacturing and engineering company.

The qualified applicant will become part of the Engineering team and will work in various engineering functions where he/she will interact with our Engineers, Test Technicians and a variety of support staff.

An intern/ co-op position with LINK is a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm. It will be an experience that puts you front and center, allowing you to be hands-on and contributing your creative energy on high-impact projects.

Responsibilities may Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical, electromechanical areas
  • Assist with tracking test metric and test data archiving
  • Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet customer specifications
  • Prepare prints for manufacturing and equipment documentation
  • Bind documents for equipment documentation
  • Maintain engineering supplies
  • File engineering drawings
  • Use a Windows based computer system to access information, enter measurement data, store and retrieve files from the network, etc.
  • Assists with a variety of special projects as needed, dependent upon the proficiency and aptitude of the student/co-op/intern.


  • Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent analytical skill and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Position may involve hands-on work with tools and testing equipment. Physical activity may include lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Local candidates preferred – relocation, housing and transportation are not provided.

  • Position is located in a mixed office and manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time.
