Desktop Support Analyst

Primary Function: Support Link network systems operations through review, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software, hardware, and network equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Installing operating system software, patches and upgrades
  • Performing routine audit of systems and software
  • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
  • System upgrade research
  • Test system components to ensure that computers, software, and network equipment function seamlessly together
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues
  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning and monitoring operating system software and servers
  • Answering technical inquiries and assisting users
  • Assist with network security maintenance
  • Document configuration of network systems
  • Troubleshooting any reported problems
  • Ensuring that the network infrastructure is operating efficiently
  • Performing system backups and recovery
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of network systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of server infrastructure and concepts, including server hardware and storage (SAN) technologies, Security and networking concepts as well as general systems infrastructure (DNS, DHCP and Active Directory).
  • Experience with network architecture, including experience with switches, routers, and network security
  • Experience using PowerShell
  • Virtualization experience (VMware)
  • Troubleshooting telecommunications structured cabling, fiber optic, twisted-pair copper
  • Experience using various physical layer testing tools, such as Fluke cable testers, etc.
  • Experience configuring and supporting equipment on Ethernet networks, including 802.11 wireless networks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position is located in a mixed office and manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time.
