Test Technician

This is a multi-shift facility and all applicants applying are required to state their hours of availability.

Primary Function:  Support our brake testing services operation as a “hands-on” mechanical test technician assigned to the American Honda Motor Company, Ohio facility. 

Position responsibilities:

  • Read and understand test specifications for inertia dynamometer and component bench testing projects.
  • Perform initial parts set-up including digital pictures, micrometer measurements, visual inspections, installation of thermocouples, test fixture builds and parts labeling.
  • Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store and retrieve files from the network, etc.
  • Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification.
  • Perform final measurements on post-test parts and verify test ran according to specification prior to submitting the project to the engineering staff for reporting.
  • Conduct basic equipment setup diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Operate data acquisition equipment and analysis software.
  • Order tools and supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years relevant work experience in mechanical testing (lab or vehicle), electronics, automotive repair, heavy truck repair, engineering technology, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet usage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to physically lift heavy objects (25 lbs and greater).
  • Able to work day shift, afternoon shift and/or weekends.
  • Able to work overtime, as required
  • Valid drivers’ license and satisfactory driving record.

Preferred:

  • Experience operating inertia brake dynamometers.
  •  Associates degree or relevant post high school certificate of achievement.
