Service Technician

Currently we are looking for a Service Technician for our servo-hydraulic team located in Ottawa Lake, MI, about 20 minutes outside of Toledo, OH. This is a highly hands-on electro-mechanical role that directly impacts customer satisfaction and will contribute to the success of our growing servo-hydraulic business. The successful candidate will be assigned to LINK while being on the payroll of our preferred contingent staffing supplier. 

Core Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Review technical specifications for conformance and exceptions
  • Manage customer relationships to both serve customer needs and drive business growth
  • Provide sales and application support
  • Design various styles of electrical & hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Perform functional checkout and specification verification of equipment
  • Troubleshoot a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical/hydraulic systems
  • Write and implement work instructions/manuals for test equipment
  • Perform equipment calibration to ISO 17025 standards
  • Troubleshoot and perform equipment repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Modify or update existing equipment
  • Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner


  • Associates degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering and 5 years applicable work experience related to test equipment or industrial electronics
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic principals
  • Experience reading various styles of electrical & hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer centric focus
  • Ability to learn and manage ERP system
  • Good organizational and follow-up skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Ability to cultivate an excellent customer experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office products skills including
  • Experience with embedded systems or software based controls
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and undergraduate level physics
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

Physical Requirements:

  • Position is located in a manufacturing facility environment, and will involve hands-on work with tools and testing equipment.  Physical activity will include lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity
