CNC Machinist - Day Shift

Currently we are looking for a CNC Machinist for our manufacturing team located in Ottawa Lake, MI. The successful candidate will be assigned to LINK while being on the payroll of our preferred contingent staffing supplier. 

Work Schedule: Monday -Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Primary Function:  Producing precision parts on CNC’s and manual machines.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Machining parts to print using CNC mill, lathe and manual machines.
  • Programing CNC machine tools using G&M code program.
  • Setting up, operating, and making necessary edits to CNC programs.
  • Performing routine machine tool maintenance.
  • Continually work on improving machining efficiency.
  • Proficiently use measurement tools for inspections, such as height gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Reading blue prints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications.
  • Inspecting parts and reporting all non-conforming parts.
  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting assembly as needed.
  • Providing on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Ordering raw materials & tools.
  • Maintaining good safety and housekeeping practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)  
  • 3 years of CNC experience
  • 3 years of programming and basic machine shop experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 

Physical Requirements:

Position is located in a manufacturing environment, and will involve hands-on work with tools and equipment.  Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
