Sales Applications Engineer

Primary Function: The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing sales proposals to overseas offices or customers and providing technical support throughout the sales process.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with external sales engineer or key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Understands each project’s technical requirements, identifies challenge areas, and translates customer requirements into meaningful design inputs
  • Responds promptly to inquiries and works closely with Senior Sales Manager, Engineering & Customer to present & qualify opportunities using standard process & documentation
  • Works closely with engineering to provide a solution to customer needs and establishes a sales proposal by actively searching to optimize equipment design, validate cost information and identify technical compliance.
  • Ensures customers have the full understanding of each sales opportunity, the company, decision makers, and company buying process.
  • Works with Senior Sales Manager to set sales path in order to maximize success & revenue.
  • Manages customers’ acceptance activities by working with customer, engineering, manufacturing, and project management to achieve successful acceptance and high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all sales orders are setup correctly and launched giving engineering & manufacturing the maximum opportunity for success.
  • Attends concept review meetings and manages the order transition from sales to engineering/manufacturing efficiently and accurately.
  • Supports the Senior Sales Manager to deliver results that meet and or exceed sales goals established by management
  • Maintain bilingual (English/Chinese) technical specification by working closely with the engineering specification committee. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical…)
  • 3 years of related experience, preferred but not mandatory
  • Proficient with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse cultures and cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English and Chinese: written and verbal skills (Required)
  • Data analysis and problem solving with strong attention to technical detail
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced, changed oriented organization

Physical Requirements:

Position is located in a mixed office and manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time.
